Nature Spirit Magic

Introduction

Each plant, animal, rock, and other entity has a spirit (consciousness resonance matrix). These spirits can join together, in a hive-mind, as a spirit of an area. Nature spirits include real biological intelligences, are psychically powerful, and are much less abstract and controllable than the Elementals that many magical people who perform all of their rituals indoors are familiar with. They can be extremely powerful allies. It is possible to sense nature spirits, to determine if they are receptive to a ritual planned, and to have them actively participate in magical workings if they are.

Some Effects Of Working With Nature Spirits

Spectacular physical manifestations can happen when working with nature spirits in the wild. I have personally seen actual foxfire mark the boundaries of a magic circle at a location that was identified as a receptive power spot and attuned to a planned ritual the day before. I have seen more than one site attuned for ritual be dry and comfortable, with a round hole in the clouds overhead, on days that were cold and rainy at other nearby locations. Birds have joined in rituals, flying around the circle when energy was being raised; and insects, birds and animals have joined in chants. In addition, the wind often responds to invocations. Generally, these spectacular manifestations happen unexpectedly.

With or without such manifestations, nature spirits often will channel tremendous amounts of power into the magic being performed. It is suggested that you do not consciously try for specific manifestations. Let Nature channel her power into the magic in her own way. If approached with respect, nature may give you many pleasant surprises.

Spectacular physical manifestations are not a necessary sign of success. If you need a spectacular manifestation and nature spirits know this, you will get it. The best success in magic is on the inner planes and more subtle than such manifestations. This success involves beneficial changes in consciousness that last and helpful chains of synchronicity. In addition, working with Nature Spirits can also bring a deep sense of partnership with Nature, and bring new levels of attunement.

To get the best results, perform nature spirit attunement several hours to several days before the main ritual. The purposes of such attunement are to find suitable power spots and to get the help of friendly nature spirits. This timing gives Nature time to gather her children and to prepare to actively participate in the main ritual.

What To Not Do

If nature spirits are approached with disrespect by attempting to command them rather than listening to them and inviting them to work with you, nature spirits may flee, rebel, or attack. I once attended a ritual by some pseudo-Crowleyites who attempted to perform the "Ritual of the Barbarous Names" at a power spot in a forest and then to extend the circle several hundred yards in all directions.

While the forest in general had loud insect and frog noises, the area at which the ritual took place got quiet immediately when the main ritualist declared that all spirits were subject unto him. The vibes from nature could best be characterized as "Oh yea, Mother!" One participant was quickly possessed by an angry spirit and kept repeating "You killed my children, your children will never live in peace." When the priestess stepped out of the boundaries of the original circle, she was attacked by bees; and bees covered the Book of the Law. Magicians should know better than to attempt to command spirits whose true names they do not know!

Calling Nature Spirits

To make the most out of working magical ritual in the wild, one should find power spots where nature spirits are receptive to the ritual planned and approach the spirits with respect, as equals. In my experience, the most effective power spots for working with the living intelligences of nature are located in wild areas with diverse, active ecologies.

When entering a wild area to find a site for a ritual, find a place that feels good. Then do the following, either individually or, if in a group, as a guided meditation:

Relax, while standing upright, and focus on your breathing. Breathe deep breaths from the diaphragm. Breathe together if in a group.

Feel the wind, and let it relax you and awaken your spirit within, as your deep breathing takes you into non-ordinary reality.

Picture, in your mind's eye, a light inside you. As you breathe, feel the light expand, purify and energize you - as it expands to fill your aura.

Feel yourself glowing, balanced, purified, and full of power.

Connect with your inner self (your higher self), and feel your intuitive self operating.

Feel yourself as:

The wind, full of life and intelligence, communicating with all round.

The Sunlight, warm, alive, channeling the power to communicate with nature and energizing all around.

Water, emotional, intuitive, refreshing, and connected with nature.

The Earth, and note how your physical body is able to wander while remaining part of Mother Earth.

Focus on your spiritual self, and:

Note the light within and feel it as love,

Expand the light and love beyond the immediate aura of your body to the surrounding area - where you will go to find a power spot and contact nature spirits.

Telepathically (by thinking while channeling the love and light energy) send out signals to nature spirits to emerge and be aware of your presence.

Say why you have come, and invite them to join in sharing, mutual celebration, and the work you intend.

Visualize the light and love energy you are channeling extending out and merging with the light from distant places.

Feel the power of the Earth flowing up through your body and feet.

Feel the power from the sky, and channel this power also to further energize the carrier signal of light and love for communicating with nature.

Visualize the light expanding and merging.

Continue to send out telepathic signals.

Now go deeper:

Close your eyes, sit on the Earth, and feel your connection while you channel more light and love.

Continue modulating the light and love with your thoughts - inviting receptive spirits to join with you and to make themselves known.

If in a group, someone should start playing a drum at a rate of about one beat per second; and you should listen to the drum and let the drum take you deeper.

Affirm that you are a nature magician, a medicine person, who knows and communicates with nature. Let this part of yourself emerge to full consciousness. Let the drum and the connection to your inner self awaken that part of yourself that naturally communicates with other life forms. Let it awaken your telepathic senses.

Continue sending telepathic signals to nature.

When you feel ready and an inner urge to begin, open your eyes a crack and look around, while continuing to channel love and light and telepathically calling for a response.

You may see light coming from certain areas that are receptive. You may get other signals, such as a feeling of power or love returning in a certain direction. Perhaps the type of response to this work will be unexpected; follow your intuition in interpreting it.

You may test your connection by communicating (mentally) instructions for signals for yes/no responses (such as light getting brighter for less and darker for no) and then mentally ask questions and observe the responses.

When you have found an areas that seems to be responsive and receptive, begin walking to the area, while beaming love energy. Extend your aura to the area and sense the energy.

Entering A Power Spot

Before entering a power spot, ask permission to enter. If the response is good, enter; if not, locate another more receptive area.
When entering the power spot, look around. Perhaps the responsive energy will be concentrated around some singularity (a bush, a tree, a specific branch, a moss covered rock, or other entity that stands out). Perhaps the energy will be more general. Use your intuition and feedback from the spirits to guide your actions.

If it feels right, send out a signal that you would like to touch the singularity (or the ground) for better communication. If the response is good, approach beaming love energy, and then touch or hug the singularity (or the ground).
Treat the spirits as you would other Pagans you meet for the first time - be sensitive, open, and listen.

Deepening Communication With Nature Spirits

Now that you have made contact with spirits that seem receptive, deepen the communication:

Breathe deep breaths from the diaphragm, and with each breath, feel more refreshed.

Now imagine that your spine is the trunk of a tree; and, from its base, roots extend deep into the Earth. Deep into the rich moist Earth.
With every breath, feel the roots extending deeper,

Feel the energy deep within the Earth and within the waters of the Earth. Feel your roots absorbing nourishment from the Earth and from its waters.

Feel the moist, warm energy rising.

Feel it bursting up from the Earth and rising up your spine, like sap rises in a tree.

Feel the energy rise to your crown chakra (at the top of your head).

Now imagine that you have branches, branches that sweep up and then bend down towards the Earth, like the limbs of a willow.

Feel the branches extending and interweaving with your surroundings.

Feel the warm, moist energy of the Earth flowing through your branches. As it flows, feel yourself being purified, centered, and connected to the Earth.

Feel the power from the Earth flowing through your branches and then down back to the Earth, like a fountain.

Note how your branches absorb energy from the air. Also, feel them receiving light (fire) from the sky.

Feel the energy from above penetrating deep through your body into the Earth.

Feel the warmth of the Earth rising also.

Feel the energy circulating.

Notice how your branches intertwine with the branches of energy surrounding you.

Feel the energy dancing among your branches and the branches around you.

Notice how your roots also intertwine with underground energy channels.

Feel the energy dancing between your roots and the surrounding energy patterns.

Notice how you and the life around you are rooted in the same Earth, breathing the same air, receiving the same fire, drinking the same water, sharing the same underlying essence. You are one with the magical grove.

Telepathically mention the time in the past when nature spirits and people communicated regularly and the need to establish such communication now.

Test your connection by asking questions and observing the responses.

Working With Nature Spirits

Explain to the spirits the purpose of your coming to them and the nature of the ritual you plan.

If the spirits you contacted are receptive:

Explain to them the details of the ritual and invite them to provide ideas.

Listen, you may receive suggestions on how to improve the ritual. Such suggestions may come in the form of hunches, visions, answers to yes/no questions using pre-arranged signals, or in other ways.

Explain what type of space is needed and ask what the best place to perform the ritual is.

You may see light or get other psychic signals leading you to other sites, or you may be at one of them.

You may also ask what the best places for other aspects of the planned work are (picnicking, individual vision quests, etc.).

If preparation of the site is needed (removing briars, preparing a fire circle, etc.) ask permission of the spirits before proceeding with such action.

Before you leave the power spot, tell the spirits you have contacted when you plan to return to do the ritual (visualizing the associated lunar and solar aspects can help with this communication).

Invite them to join in the ritual when you return and to bring their friends.

Ask if it would be best to return silently, with drums, with chanting, or with some other form of approach.

You can also ask the spirits to provide guidance for working in balance and to provide a teacher to provide further guidance.
Before you leave the power spot:

Thank the spirits,

Channel love energy,

Trigger your memory of the experience, and

If it feels right, leave an offering of tobacco, or beer and honey poured on the ground (or other suitable material).
Leave in peace and love.

Proceed to other sites that were indicated by the spirits, doing similar meditations at each site.

If you need something, like a staff, a Maypole, or a wand, you can also ask where you can find it and follow the guidance you receive (not slavishly, but as you would guidance from another Pagan).

Before leaving the general area in which you found power spots and contacted nature spirits:

Channel love energy towards the receptive sites you found,

Thank the spirits of the land,

Pull back your roots and branches,
Ground any excess energy into the Earth (placing your hands on the Earth, breathe in any excess energy, and channel the energy down your arms, while visualizing and feeling the energy going into the Earth), and

Leave in peace and love.

Naturally, you should leave the area at least as clean, and preferably cleaner, than you found it.

If you work with techniques of Wicca or Ceremonial Magic, you may find that by casting a circle, calling the Elements, the Goddess, the Gods, and the local nature spirits while you are at receptive sites, you may be able to greatly increase communication.

Through the use of drums and other power raising techniques, it is even possible to energize receptive nature spirits. The results can be very interesting. If with a coven, such circles can be done as part of a group attunement to a power spot you have located.

If you do not get good feelings in response to your explanation of the ritual and are unable to come up with a ritual that gives good responses, do not try to force a good response. You would only be fooling yourself.

Thank the spirits for their attention.
Ask them why they are not receptive (if it feels right and they are communicative).

Trigger your memory.

Pull back your "roots and branches," return any excess energy you feel into the Earth.

If it feels appropriate, leave an offering of tobacco or other appropriate material, out of respect for the spirits.

Move to a more receptive site.

If it is hard to find a site that is really receptive, you should:

Consider any impressions you got of why the nature spirits weren't receptive in the area you were in, and re-think your plans for a ritual, as necessary and appropriate.

It may also be appropriate to look for another general area in which to find a suitable power site that is receptive to the work planned.

What To Do When Returning

It can be very powerful to purify and center yourself and to attune to the spirits of the land using the techniques previously described for calling nature spirits immediately upon returning to the site.

Often, individuals may have found small specific power spots to which they have a special attunement, where the spirits are interested in participating; but where the site is too small, has too much vegetation, or is otherwise unsuitable for the main ritual. Individual attunement to the spirits in such areas and inviting them to participate in the main ritual can be worthwhile.

Then approach the main ritual site using the previously arranged technique. You should have the details worked out with the spirits of the land. An exceptionally powerful technique involves doing a procession through or past receptive power spots, inviting nature spirits to join as you pass each power spot, and then moving to the central power spot for the main ritual. If participants are at individual power spots, they can join the procession as it passes nearby.

When consecrating space in the wild, or casting a circle, do not set up the perimeter as a barrier to all outside forces; it should be a beacon to attract friendly nature spirits, a container for holding magical power, and a barrier to spirits who it isn't right to be with.
One thing that is fun and worthwhile in nature is to bring instruments, such as a rattle, a flute and/or a drum, to tune in to nature's sounds, and to make music in time to nature's sounds. You may be able to get some very interesting back and forth exchanges of music going with selected creatures of the wild, and get into an amazing jam session.

After the work is complete, be sure to thank the spirits for their participation. Libations and other offerings may also be left for the spirits during and/or after the ritual.

Angels, Guardian Angels and Archangels

Angels are a separate creation, believed by some to be between God and human. By others, these are believed to be gods and goddesses, as to be distinguished from Gods and Goddesses. They are believed to be powerful beings, and archangels are believed to be very powerful beings. There are many types of angels. I will only discuss a few in this writing at this time. 

Guardian Angels

Many believe that we all have guardian angels that protect and guide us throughout our lives, assigned to us from birth. In a May 2004 Gallup poll, 72 percent of Americans said that they believe in angels. 

A guardian angel is assigned to you and never leaves your side. Some believe that you have one guardian angel and others believe that you have two. But all believers agree that your guardian angel is with you throughout your entire life. 

Communicating with Your Guardian Angel

According to the book Angel Therapy by Doreen Virtue, you can communicate with your guardian angel in many ways:
Letters. Write down your worries, questions and concerns and then your angels can assist you with your troubles.

•  Visualization. You can visualize your angels using your mind’s eye. This can be a powerful experience in connecting to your angels. 


•  Thinking. You can connect with your guardian angels by calling on them mentally. Angels do not need to hear a spoken word to come to your aid; they will come to your aid when they hear your thought. 


•  Speaking. You can also speak to the guardian angels aloud. If speaking your mind comforts you, then speak to your angels and trust that they will come. 

Your angels are always there and they want to assist you with whatever is on your mind and in your heart. All you need to do is to ask for help and your angels are right there. According to Virtue, an angel will not interfere with a human’s life unless asked, except in a life-threatening situation. 

 A guardian angel’s inspiration

Whether or not you choose to communicate with your guardian angel, they are always ready to assist you with important matters in your life. They follow you throughout your day, guiding and protecting you. Your guardian angel may nudge you to do something, or nudge you to avoid doing something. You may get a good feeling about doing something – and this could very well come from your guardian angel. Your guardian angels are happy to inspire you whenever you need their assistance. 

It is comforting to know that your guardian angel is always there for you, when times are good and when times are troubling.

Archangels

Archangels are angels who epitomize the fullest development of the qualities, attributes, and principles of the Universal Rays. Donning the sacred mantle of Archangel is a celebratory act of affirmation and of commitment to the unity of the greater whole. 

There are many angels, but the ranks of the archangels are limited by the necessity for members of their angelic order to be tried and tested, trustworthy to their starcore, and truly intent upon helping others. 

As Archangels, their prior actions and behavior serve as an exemplary role model for other angels and humans to aspire to as they traverse the universal evolutionary spirals. Archangels then are angels who epitomize the fullest development of the qualities, attributes, and principles of the Universal Rays. 

Archangels can also belong to one or more of the other orders of angels. To become a chief among angels, however, an angel must exhibit noteworthy capabilities, remarkable flexibility, and just leadership abilities. 

By embodying both the highest vibrational and the lightest resonance levels, they have consistently walked their talk, earning them both the honor and the privilege of becoming an angelic chieftain. 

As Archangels, their prior actions and behavior serve as an exemplary role model for other angels and humans to aspire to as they traverse the universal evolutionary spirals. The triune qualities of Love, Light, and Power are balanced in their consciousnesses and divine matrixes. 

Although the Archangels are also almost equally balanced in both their masculine and feminine polarities, they are all slightly skewed more towards one of the polarities than the other, making them either a male angel or a female angel. 

Today for the most part, there are an equal number of female and male Archangels serving on the Twelve Universal Rays. Supportive emissaries with bridging responsibilities, the Archangels span dimensional time and space to serve as patrons and protectors of humanity, bringing hallowed blessings and providing intercessional openings... 

The most widely recognized list of Archangels that have been overlighting earthly endeavors who are currently holding positions on one of the Twelve Universal Rays includes, Archangel Chamael, Archangel Gabriel, Archangel Jophiel, Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, Archangel Urriel (Urimiel), and Archangel Zadkiel. Dozens of other Archangels have now joined them, providing supportive assistance. 

Divine Plan patterning for each of the Twelve Universal Rays, which are washing the earth and its inhabitants with many hues of divine radiance at this time, includes one overall office with at many positions for both Archangels and Hierarchs. 

In order to maximize the grounding and manifestation of the Universal Ray energetic templates, the members form a cohesively interactive group that shares both the powers and the responsibilities for that Universal Ray in an evenhanded and equitable manner. 

Each of the Archangels who serves on one of the Twelve Universal Rays has a very distinctive soul-note or spiritual personality that reflects not only their current evolutionary status, but also their personal functional aspirations for the Universal Ray they work on and the modalities they use such as their primary stones, birds, trees, flowers, and essential oils. 

The words that describe and delineate the Archangels of the Universal Rays and their Sacred Sites were carefully chosen by each of them so that they would act as ignition keys, opening windows of understanding in those who read them. 

The symbolic tonal qualities of the position titles for each of the Twelve Universal Rays was carefully chosen to indicate the full import of the outworking of the Divine Plan for this local universe via the inherent interrelationship between name and form. 

Archangel Chamael, for example, brings powerful transmutation, fiery patterning, and vigorous visualization to the Ninth Ray of Divine Protection. He strengthens and imbues pursuers of transcendent metamorphosis with hopeful tenacity, as they continue, step by step, from potent penetrating vision to authoritative fulfilling actualization. 

The primary intentional goal of the Archangels of the Twelve Universal Rays is for these commendable "Archangel Caliber" functional responsibilities, modalities, and qualities to be regularly and routinely exhibited by humanity in daily life throughout the Natural Landscape... 

The Usage of Love Spells In Magick or Ritual

In this rambling, I will talk about the ever present topic of Love Spells and also offer some guidance on the use of any spell, ritual or potion for manipulative purposes. By manipulative purposes, I am referring to a working where the object of said working is not aware it is being done, nor have they consented to such a working.

Of course this is only my opinion and it is not intended to embarrass anyone. These are simply my thoughts on a subject which gets batted around quite frequently, so take it for what is worth. From the mail I receive from those who have made or seen these mistakes happen, I'm confident they are shared by the majority who are experienced in this path.

The primary question one must consider before undertaking any ritual working, especially where Love Magick is concerned is, "Is This Working Consistent With The Basic Tenant of HARM NONE as expressed in The Rede."

Upon asking yourself the following two questions, you can effectively analyze the reasons to either justify or dismiss the working.

1. What is my intent in performing this work?
2. Is this spell or ritual influenced by anger; hatred; lust; greed; jealousy or envy?

If your answer to question number 1 is found within question number 2, then as a Wiccan and follower of the Light Path, you must abandon this spell or ritual because it will not be consistent with the Rede.

Likewise, if question 1 is answered by question 2 and you continue, you can no longer rightfully call yourself Wiccan. A True Wiccan will not use manipulative magick to negatively influence another for their own personal interests. The whole purpose of following this path is to live in harmony and balance with the natural rhythms of life, not to manipulate them to suit a selfish goal. At this point, you need to refer to yourself as a follower of the Dark Path since manipulative magick for personal gain without consideration of the outcome falls within that realm...

Harsh Words? You Bet...
Does It Make You Uncomfortable? Good...

By undertaking such an action without the consent or approval of another, you are clearly disregarding the Rede and using your gifts for purely selfish reasons. Therefore, you are setting forces in motion which will ultimately have negative impact in one way or another and you are practicing Dark Magick.

You must remember that once you create and release this energy as a thought form, it will acquire life, form and substance. It will run it's course, and the final outcome through the laws of cause and effect may not be what you wanted. The potential for great harm to both yourself and others are clearly evident in such a working. This is especially clear when you consider that you will eventually need to absorb this energy back into yourself after it has ruined your life and the lives of who knows how many others...

Let's Look At a Potential Outcome of Such a Working for a Moment... 

 
You create a Love Spell, focus your energy and release it toward your victim. I use the word victim because that is what you have just made this person if they are unaware of your work and have not given their consent.

Through the laws of magick, your victim begins to fall hopelessly in love with you or the person you performed this spell for. So much so that they become increasingly dependent as time passes. They can no longer function without your presence and guidance. You cannot get a moments peace because they constantly have to be with you. You can no longer function at work because they are calling every ten minutes. They become increasingly jealous, possessive and suspicious because they cannot have all of your time. The list of undesirable effects could go on and on and can become more than a little frightening.

Ultimately, you must ask yourself the following questions. Would "you" want someone doing this to you, and if you truly cared for someone, how could you risk doing something like this to them? In my humble opinion, it does not show a very high regard or respect for others or yourself and the decision on whether or not to proceed is clear.

I caution you that non consensual Love Magick is a double edged sword and borders on the manipulation of another human being against their "Free Will". It is also dangerously close to Psychic Rape and is considered highly unethical by most who practice the Craft.

I hope this has given those who have considered using such practices food for thought. While my opinion may not be shared by all, it illustrates the need to consider all potential outcomes before focusing and releasing a spell.

A Better Solution

 

This is written by a friend who wishes to be known as "Betty".

A couple of years ago, I was single again after the demise of a long marriage. I was lonely, and hoping I would not spend the rest of my life alone. I had decided to ask the Goddess for help, using my own energies and powers. So, not wanting another not-so-good marriage, I was asking for what qualities in a person I wanted, and asked to be -SENT- someone rather than just find someone. I went outside and performed a ritual under the full moon, by myself. I asked that I be sent -THE RIGHT- person, with no particular idea of who that person would be, or any specific qualities about that person. From my previous marriage, I knew that it was important to me that the person share important things in my life, including my religion, at least in a basic sense.

Well, in a couple of days, I met a new person online. I thought we were writing about our shared interest in folk music. Then, after a little while, first he, then I, admitted that there was more interest than that. One thing led to another there, he came to visit me. He told me that he too, had been doing a simple ritual during that same full moon: Lighting candles, and asking Goddess, "Please Mother, send me someone to love so I don't spend my life alone". He ended up staying and sending for his things, and we were later married.

This is a better solution than asking for a specific thing, in a specific way, or especially from a specific person. For one thing, the issue of manipulation completely went away. Instead, the person who was sent was also asking for someone to love, through his own ritual. We did not know each other when we did these rituals. For For another thing, we were both asking for a "right person" for us. In both of our cases, sure, other people (former spouses) believed that we were not "the right person". We probably weren't for them. For each other, we may well be. Neither of us is perfect, no one is a "perfect partner" for everyone.

We have always been amused that we were doing these rituals with similar intent, although the specifics of the operation of the rituals was very different at the same time, for the same purpose. Perhaps Goddess runs a "cosmic switchboard" of sorts. When She gets various requests, She just introduces people on some criteria - kind of like a dating service with ALL of the information.

How Do Psychic Energies Effect Us?

We Are Surrounded By Psychic Energies and They Do Effect Us Daily

Every thing as we know it has energy within it, Or more accurately is energy in some form or another. These things that are energy give off or leak different amounts depending on the specifics of the object in question.

For example in a physical sense people like you and I have what is called body heat. This is energy created by our bodies and then radiated throughout every pore we have. Liken this to the spiritual energy that we are composed of and how it leaks through our spiritual or astral forms which are in sync and one with our physical bodies. I would call this waste energy as it has already been used and projected out of the system, and has no further use to the individual radiating it.

When an emotion is felt it is still part of the energy being given off. This energy can then be read without probing into the individual themselves. The more power and skill one has the less "leakage" they are going to be giving out. Now I speak of empathy because it is probably the best known ability that many people have. This leakage effect can work with other types as well.

The Importance of Shielding and Monitoring Psychic Energy

Most psychics are those who practice this ability more than anything else because of its simplistic effectiveness. Those they are reading do not know how to shield or monitor their energies to the point that everything they say and every movement they make gives off the energy that the practitioner can read from. Many psychics however also do not understand this and feel that their source of the read comes directly from the mind of the target itself. This is false and can lead the psychic into some bad habits and practices which will in fact limit their abilities if they are to try to ever advance.

Now the examples shown are better seen through a living, talking, and breathing person. However it is not limited there. As I have stated before this works with not but all living things like plant life but also including what we see as inanimate objects, such as rocks, manufactured objects and other dead items lying around.

Many times these things give off an energy that is not immediately noticeable to the practitioner. However the energy is there and being given off in similar ways as the people around us. The pattern of energy though is different and it may take time in order for someone who really wants to understand the energy to get to that level.

Knowing and understanding this first level of energetic reading is the basic idea that will bring you to a greater understanding of energy and energy use in itself.

Boundaries And The Spirit Of Place

The Earth is a place where each species, tribe, or group creates new symbols of its values.  Groups have territories. Mountains and rivers create natural boundaries, but so do language, symbols, and rites. The mountains, rivers, and valleys themselves are often given names that reveal their spiritual essence.

Culture works in a dialectic. All types of cultures circulate vital force and consciousness in different ways.  The thesis of a culture is its identity, how it distinguishes itself in tools, languages, and art.  The antithesis is the tension created by differences in identity between cultures.  The synthesis reveals how these tensions are resolved and integrated into a medley of values and cultural ways.  A fourth phase, which I call paradox, is reached only where the values of a culture reach beyond differences, or even resolutions, to the source, the One.  Whether expressed in sacred art, rite, or political action, paradox is a sacred act, a realization of the gift of a culture's endowment.  It is a reciprocation that brings streams of renewal and creativity.

Territory, or earth-mapping, is expressed through a dialectic as well.  Territories can exist in isolation - such as a village in a desert or wilderness - or they can be tangent to each other, marked by political, racial, or cultural boundaries.  The antithesis always emphasizes separation, the tension of differences.  The spatial synthesis of a territory is in the concept of a commons or shared city-center where boundaries overlap.  People of diverse nationalities and races may meet in a shared environment to which they all contribute.  A paradox is revealed wherever the sacred is recognized as the real ruler of the land.  This is called spirit of place.

The spirits of place reveal the specific qualities of subtle energy in the landscape - how the dragon vein flows.  They abound in rivers, mountains, trees, and caves.  Their presence is felt in native, archaic, and ancient mythology.  The Eskimos tell of Sedna, the Sea Spirit in charge of all sea creatures.  The spirits of the Earth and sky were invoked by the Iroquois, and through this invocation they found the wampum bird.  The sylphs and gnomes of fairy tales, the devas that weave subtle energy and light into elemental energy and states, can wait out human mismanagement and direct the recovery of the world.  But if we are to participate, we must ask them to share their power, and then listen.

One way I envision the way to invite them to share their powers is to simply create a sacred circle, and invite them in to share, and above all, as stated, LISTEN.

Spiritual Healing - Transformation

Recently this topic has come up several times, so I felt now was the time to share what I have about this with those requesting and those seeking.

Transformation is a very classical idea, and we see it in all world religions and spirituality. In Christianity,  Metanoia in the New Testament = a transformed mind.  The Holy Spirit is transformational, is also the spirit of truth.  God is onmipotent, therefore root-transformational.  Christ is a wayshower, sacred heart, communion, spiritual substances, et al, is transformational.

Insight as transformational = gnosis, jnana, prajna, etc.

Religious devotion is transformational - a love of God and truth, bhakti, hearing truth from a true teacher.

Real healing affects every part of us; spiritual, mental, emotional, energetic, physical.  Real healing affects the complete inner and the complete outer aspects of life, transforms them.  There is an aspect of eternity involved, so even if we grow by fits and starts, there is something permanent in a real transformation.

Real healing "moves energy," and is not just a mental phenomenon.  Part of moving energy is Spirit prevailing on us, on life circumstances, transforming them.

Define Supreme Being, Source, God, Mother Earth, Great Father, Spirit any way you like.  Just start somewhere, seek the best you can find for exemplars / teachers / inspiration, course correct as you go, move to greater and more workable truths as you go along.  Trust that greater and more workable truths will be revealed.

Validate ourself as Spirit, or pure consciousness, primordial purity, whatever you want to call it.

Real healing must involve the spiritual dimensions of life.

What works best naturally aligns spiritual truth, mind, emotion, feeling (a form of intuition), energy body, physical body, worldly life and circumstances.

There are no limits with Spirit.  To the extent that we are operating with limited ideas, Spirit cannot come through and transform in the moment.  We need to be prepared, purified, sincere, and ready to receive Spirit in the moment for the transformation of our own lives.  Every religion and spiritual path has its own language for this idea.  How closely clergy, members, adherents follow the core path of transformation is up to them.

Getting Answers Using Magic With An Omen Search

Using Magic to Get Answers

My work as a High Priest and pagan author can sometimes be tiring. When dealing so much with other's problems, I often find myself needing a few answers too. Here is a wonderful magical way to get answers. When I need a little boost, I perform an Omen Search, and let the dead speak!

What is an omen search?

An omen search is a process of looking for signs, either in nature or in the man-made world, to give one direction. The Celtic tradition is to seek the help of an ancestor of loved one who has crossed over.

The Preparation

You should prepare by honoring the dead. Light a candle and burn some incense. Gather photos, jewelry or other memorabilia of theirs that you might have. Hold the items in you hand and recall happy times. If you had a bad experience with a deceased party or if you have no one who has passed, ask Spirit to bring a loving ancestor to you. If you feel an affinity to animal spirits, or a closeness to a particular spirit guide, you may ask their assistance.  I prefer to invite the dead at Samhain, as this is the ideal time to connect with them.. Once your mind has centered on a particular individual, concentrate on that memory. Example: Your mother passed away over 4 years ago and you like to bring her energy and spirit to life. Once you have that person's face and spirit embedded in your mind, its time for betwixt and between.

Betwixt and Between

The Celts believe that when a mortal is betwixt and between he can reach the spirit realm. Samhain is a betwixt and between day. Twelve midnight is a betwixt and between because it is between one day and the next. When you stand in doorway, you are in a betwixt and between place. To stand in a shadow is to place yourself betwixt and between, for you are neither in the light, nor in the dark, but rather betwixt the two. To properly do the omen search you must be betwixt and between.

This will work in-doors and out. It doesn't matter where as long as you are betwixt and between. If you do it in the house, stand in between two rooms, in a doorway, etc. Even one foot on the carpet and one foot off will work. If you are in the park, try putting one foot on the trail and one foot off, or one foot in the clearing, one foot in the woods. Outside your home, you might stand inside your front doorway; between the sidewalk and your front porch; or straddle the sidewalk one foot on both sides. Conjure up the image of the ancestor you have chosen and ask them to help you. Get paper and pen, you will be traveling clockwise --facing all four directions and asking an appropriate question each time. You will want to record your answers.

The Questions

Begin in the East and be sure that you are standing in your betwixt and between place. Close your eyes and picture your ancestor in your mind. When their energy seems the strongest ask them the appropriate question three times. Contemplate the true meaning of the questions. Think about what you are asking. DO NOT open your eyes until you feel it is right. When it is time to open them be aware. Record on the paper the very first thing you see, hear, or physically notice. It doesn't matter how mundane or silly it seems - just write it down. Repeat the process with the other directions. Here is a list of the questions:

EAST: Where have I come from?
SOUTH: What is my power?
WEST: Where am I going?
NORTH: Who am I?

Brainstorming

After you are finished and have compiled your answers, sit down and contemplate their meaning. Here's an example of what you could see. If you are outside when you face the east, you might see one lone leaf hanging from a tree limb being blown by the wind - this has meaning. If you are inside facing your kitchen, you might see a cluttered counter. Both these things speak volumes if you read the symbolism. The four questions can be adapted to any question in life. For example, if you want to know if you should stay in your current job, simply apply the same questions. The answers can really help and sometimes be quite startling.

I hope you enjoy your Omen Search. Performing one monthly just before the full moon is a good practice and can provide real direction!  Contemplate how wonderful it is that we can still enjoy the company of those who have crossed over, and thank Spirit for what you have!

What Resistance Means To Our Well-being

Resistance (Letting Go)

There are many ways in our lives in which we go to resistance. We resist what is happening if we don’t like it or think that something else will make us happier. We resist the emotions or thoughts that are coming up for us that we don’t want to look at. We resist the way others treat us and want to control them so that we will be happy.

Resistance is usually connected to a belief we have that needs to be looked at. If we are feeling resistance to something then it means that the belief that is connected to it is not working for us. Are we happy? Will resisting what is happening make us happy? Probably not.

If we are in a place of resistance, then we are not accepting all that is. If we are not in a state of acceptance, we are resisting and as a result we are suffering. Resistance and suffering work together to create a world of pain for ourselves. But when we let go of the resistance and allow what is happening to be whatever it is we can feel the peace of acceptance.

Acceptance brings the peace we desire. Resistance brings suffering. Which do we want in our lives? Which feels better?

Resisting what is occurring doesn't change it. Wanting to change or control it doesn't change things either.

Perhaps someone has cut you off in traffic and you feel angry and say, “He should not have done that!” It doesn't change the fact that the person did it. What it does is keep us in a place of pain. We can look at the pain, in this case in the form of anger, that comes up for us and use the experience as a lesson rather than resist what happened. As we allow ourselves to look at the thought or feeling that doesn't feel good to us, can let go of the need to resist or control and be accepting of what has happened and grateful for the lesson it may have brought to us.

If we resist looking at our thoughts or feelings, which is really all resistance is in most situations, we are keeping ourselves in suffering. We can let go of the suffering once we allow the emotions to be felt, see that the thought is not the truth and know from the place deep within that any belief connected to this pain is also false.

At first it may be difficult to be aware of our resistance. We can look back at previous experiences and see the resistance and how we could have shifted it. But as we become more aware, with practice we can recognize our resistance in the moment that it is happening and change how we think and feel as it is happening.

As you go through your week, be aware of the situations in which you feel you are experiencing resistance. Allow yourself to be aware of the thoughts and feelings that you are having and what the belief is that is connected to them. See if you can shift from resistance to acceptance and notice the change in how you think and feel.

Over the years I have offered many explanations about the importance to a witch of keeping a Book of Shadows.  In my online travels tonight, as I was checking email, I noticed that a friend of mine had uploaded his video to YouTube in regards to the importance of a Book of Shadows.  Merlin Raven Song did this very well, and the information contained is most informative.  So here I am sharing it with those of you who may be interested in the magical and spiritual aspects associated with a Book of Shadows.

Many of us Pagans, Wiccans and witches keep a Book of Shadows.  In earlier times, all Books of Shadows were hand-written and many were kept secret.

In the modern era, the majority of us will keep a written Book of Shadows as well as on created on our computers in a Word file or similar.  Many of us in recent times have created our Book of Shadows as a CD of Shadows.  The abbreviation would be CDoS versus BoS.

At Night The Rabbits Will Play

Lessons learned can come from the most unexpected places!

For a long time, I was lost and I wandered all along the countryside looking to find my way. I knew that I had to go North, but I had gotten all turned around and did not know which direction was North.

One morning I saw that the birds were singing and one group of beautiful birds in particular caught my attention with all their song and flew up over a hillside near some fragrant evergreens. As the sun rose brighter and warmer, I saw the path. It was a clay covered road and it smelled that good strong earthy smell.

It took me half the day to arrive at the red road and the sun was high in the sky by now. My stomach growled from the day's journey so I sat down on a large boulder, yellowish in color, and ate the sandwich that I had packed. I looked up and saw a large bird circling above me. Its head was a light color, maybe even white. It may have been Eagle, but I was not sure.

I looked at the road at my feet. I wanted to do a celebration dance for having found this place because I knew it was exactly what I had been searching for. This road led North and I knew in my heart that there would be many treasures here along my journey.

After lunch, leaving a few bites for Boulder and the critters who might happen to come here and feel the hunger that I had, I straightened my clothing and tied back my hair and walked. One foot in front of the other, sometimes skipping, sometimes inching along. By evening, with the sunset glowing in its deepest shades of reds and oranges and some streaks of pinks, the path led me alongside a thickly wooded grove.

I could hear a stream gurgling up ahead, yet to my left, my attention was distracted by the sweet call of berries. I knew that if I stayed on my path, I would find fresh water to quench my undeniable thirst and maybe even a fish for my dinner.

Against my better judgment I left the path and found the berries. I tasted one at first and finding them so delicious, I grabbed handfuls and stuffed them in my mouth. So sweet, so tasty! Satisfying my sweet cravings, I was ready to once again walk on the path. Yet, as I was so involved with finding the ripest, most delicious berries, I had weaved and intertwined myself so deeply into the thicket that I had once again lost my way back to the path.

I began walking in circles, panicking and afraid of never finding the path. I even thought "what if it actually never existed, what if it was all just a dream?" Then of all horrid things, I doubled over in pain as my belly heaved and bloated in the worst case of gas ever and finally exhorted itself from me with the worst smelling trail of stench ever! I tried jogging to avoid the smell of those gas-producing berries and yet the wind always seemed to change direction and blow it right in my face.

All at once, I froze in utter fear. Just ahead, I could hear a rustling in the tall grasses and the threatening growl of Bear. I suddenly realized that I was trampling all over Bear's territory and that I had been emitting a smell that would make any animal want to get rid of me. I started running when Bear saw me and I kept running until I was nearly all out of breath. Lo and behold, that Bear had chased right back to my path. While I had feared never finding it again, Bear showed me the way.

Once again on the trail that would lead me to the waters gurgling up ahead, I contemplated the lesson I had learned. First, I knew that my goal was to stay on my path. Second, I now knew that some temptations are sweet and delicious but will cause a big pain in the belly. Sometimes those temptations are quite deceptive and other times, you can tell right away by the thorns to just stay away. Third, I learned that Bear will always show me the way back to the path.

By the time I reached the fresh water, I had an unquenchable thirst and drank until my body flowed with liquid once again. I laid out my gear to rest here awhile as I could tell by the sky that it was almost midnight. I was ready for a good long sleep and dream-time after my exciting journey of lessons.

I took out my tobacco and offered it to the directions and thanked Bear in the West for helping me find my way back to the trail. As I laid on the ground and watched the stars, I noticed some movement near me. I sat up halfway, very slowly to see what it was. There, only a few feet from me, were two rabbits. They were chasing one another in circles. First, one would chase the other and then they would turn and the one who had been chased became the one chasing. It was delightful to watch the rabbits play this night. As I laid back down and closed my eyes, I thought "at night the rabbits will play". In the morning, the birds will sing. It is good.

Simple Easy Steps To Help Heal The Earth

Healing Gaia - Mother Earth

We live in a world of pollution from various areas. Air pollution, noise pollution, media/news pollution, water pollution, trash pollution, political pollution, etc.

Many of us would like to help but feel overwhelmed. We look at the large issues and the large amounts of pollution and simply feel discouraged with thoughts along the lines of, "What could I do that would possibly help as an individual with things so far gone?" In reality, that is what the majority feel. I know that I thought that way for several decades myself.

During a meditation one night, many years ago, it came to me from a Divine source that it was possible for every human on the earth to take a part in the cleansing of the Mother Earth (Gaia), no matter where they may be at, and have an impact on the health of the Mother Earth in a positive manner. Now this would be something that a human may not get credit or praise from other humans, but would get credit and acknowledgment from the Mother Earth and all the Deities associated with Her, no matter what Path you may find yourself on.

It is not a big secret, nor is it a complicated matter or large undertaking. It is easy for each and everyone of us to implement and feel well about at the same time.

If you would like to help heal the Mother Earth, the solution is basic. Next time you are out and about doing whatever you may be doing and see trash laying there on the sidewalk, grass, street, etc., well, stop, stoop down, pick up the "offending" piece and simply place it in a trash receptacle or take it with you and dispose of it when you can.

There you go! You, an individual, small in comparison to the world population, have just helped in a big manner to enhance the healing of the Mother Earth. You will be smiled on by the Deities for doing this one simple action. Multiply it over the years, and then you have become a major player. Remember the Law of Karma. Karma comes back to us in the manner of our actions, good for good, bad for bad. Helping with the healing of the Mother Earth is definitely GOOD!

I hope this hub will inspire you to take action...simple, easy action... Not so simple in the eyes and heart of the Mother Earth and those Deities you work with.

What Is Patronage?

Patronage Guidelines To Contemplate

From my experiences on this path I have seen many followers decide to request patronage. Since I only serve one patron I cannot comment on the many countless others that can be chosen.

Patronage generally becomes a consideration when an individual has come to a point that she or he cannot do something effectively by themselves. Patronage is not always accessible, and is something agreed upon to the mutual (it is to be hoped) benefit of patron and seeker. No one can determine the viability of patronage for you, other than you - it will be your agreement, your benefits and your cost.

My experiences with the Patron I serve is that I give to gain. There is nothing free in the exchange. I have never been asked to do something in a way that I haven't wanted to do myself. I have never been asked to make my life into a hellish misery in order to keep my patronage. Going by the experiences of others I have spoken to and their thoughts on this subject our thinking seems to be in accordance for the most part.

Many have heard my analogy about the loaf of bread. Please just bear with me I do think that it is important for me to reinforce it.

In this scenario you are told by your boss, or whomever has the control to require you to do something to bring back a loaf of bread. In this you have many options to pursue all which have their own consequences. This leads into the theory of "Cause and Effect." Here are just some of the major simplified options you could choose.

• Stealing the Bread
• Manipulating Someone to Steal the Bread
• Tricking Someone into Giving You the Bread
• Buying the Bread
• Making the Bread

As we see all of these options have their own plus and minus effects. My patronage leaves the 'how', these ways of dealing, up to the individual and they may then use, to the best of their ability, the talents they have to accomplish the deed asked of them.

It is highly unlikely that anyone can blame their deeds or misdeeds as a result of their service to their patron. I have yet to see an order issued by a patron that if given a little thought, cannot be fulfilled in a way that is positive to the seeker. Furthermore, I would also say that it is equally as unlikely that anyone could be tricked, or forced into patronage against their own will. This would not be beneficial to either patron or seeker.

Punishment comes from trying to bypass the will of the patron you serve and act in a way that is contrary to the agreement you have made. If this is commonplace and you are punished frequently it might be best that you void your contract and go your own way. How this would be accomplished is beyond my level of understanding, or interest, as I have not met with dissatisfaction with the agreements or tasks I have undertaken with my patron.

What Are Universal Laws?

Though my ideas have changed over the years there have been fundamental laws that have shaped my thinking and helped define the approach that I now follow. Many have asked me over the years, "What is Universal Law?" This article should give some insight to those seeking such.

Since then my views on some of these theories have changed. Make a note that I will be using Laws and Theories as interchangeable terms that are synonymous with each other. It is very difficult to prove the existence and infallibility of metaphysical laws or theories and there are many of these things with varied differences in accordance to the infinite number of paths that seem to have been made or are being made.

I feel as we progress we should inevitably change the theories we are using to better explain how the specific effects we are creating are being made. We will use our own ever evolving calculations and equations to improve what it is we seek to do. Our understanding should grow and we should be able to more finely tune everything we do.

I feel in the start it is best to have somewhat of a game plan. this way you aren't just shooting in the dark. So with that said I will put up the basic foundation of the universal laws as I learned them. Many of these will look familiar as many other styles will have similar rules or laws in place which have helped mold their foundations.

All Is One

The universe in essence though one thing it is composed of two.

That which we call manifest and unmanifest. The Unmanifest is where we start getting into problems. We can only hypothesize about it. But there is one thing that we do understand from the unmanifest came forth the manifest.

That which we understand and live through we call manifest as we exist within it. The mysteries of the manifest may elude us but they can be on some level understood. Within it there are immutable laws that govern all that we do. We can directly liken these rules to some scientific understanding that we have. Laws of Gravity, Laws of Motion. These laws are accurate in the experiences that we have with them and the understanding we are in at the time.

It must be stressed however that these are still working models of which are due to evolution throughout the ever advancing experiences we have with them. So true is this approach with the rest of the laws given on what many would call the metaphysical level. These laws change and adapt. I am reminded of Heraclitus and his famous quote:

"No-one can step twice into the same river, nor touch mortal substance twice in the same condition. By the speed of its change, it scatters and gathers again."

We must account that the universe is an ever evolving substance such as we as thinking sentient beings ought to be if we are to survive. It is not known if this shift comes forth from the manifest or of the unmanifest spitting out an ever changing dualistic energy.

Duality** and Reflection

From the Unmanifest two energies came forth. These energies are often called by various names, however, in this text they will be understood as Light and Dark. These two energies that came forth from the Unmanifest began at once a struggle with each other that created the existence that we enjoy. It is only with the duality of these two energies and the push-pull antagonization of their interplay with each other that keeps what we know as manifest existence established.

It is the Light side of this dualistic energy that seeks to impose unity. The Dark half looks for a constant separation. In all other ways these energies work the same. Neither energy is more powerful than the other. Neither energy has certain other characteristics that the other cannot accomplish in some way. These are equally powerful energies of which neither will ever be victorious over the other in. This is what is known as Reflection.

Many modern healers insist that this ability is only governed through the Light energies they employ. Reflection however insists that the Dark half is equally capable of healing. The same response goes into the arts of attack, defense, and any other applicable use of energy.

Once again the only defining qualities of Dark and Light of which differ from each other is the struggle of Unity and Separation. Thus this begs the questions many supposed gray mages ask. Can one be unified with something yet at the same time be separated? When I first became familiar with these laws I was told that it was an impossibility. Currently I am open to the other possibility but I cannot see a plausible equation for it. So I am left with using though perhaps a less modern approach for the workings I do in regards to this law, I feel the outcomes are more practical, defined, and efficient as the solution feeds from a purer set of calculations on working material.

** Working theories with Duality sometimes involve in one dualistic energy in that it is capable of going into positive and negative such as how we view electrical energy. Other views insist on an infinite number of energies yet each operating in a pattern of which could be classified as Light and Dark.

Symmetry

Symmetrical in every direction in regards to the energic properties of the Universe.

Existence works because there an equal amount of opposing energy on each side. This is not to say that there is exactly the same amount of Dark energy versus Light energy. There is an ever shifting lack of energy that the universe goes through. I feel it is cyclical in nature but I cannot of course prove this theory.

If at one time however there is not enough of one energy to combat the ever vigilant opposing force the universe will right itself. Right itself in sometimes even drastic measures. Much like when man interferes with nature's ability to burn out dead wood in the forests, nature will often impose on the forest and everything around it such a fire of extreme conditions that it will catch up to where it was balanced from before.

Any majority influx of Light or Dark energies are controlled by the universe in righting itself by integrating into the system such a concentration of energy in order for it's universal will to rebalance itself.

On a side note it is this that I believe is happening at this day and age. The Darkness is once again being allowed to be concentrated in means to right itself against the majority that the Light has enjoyed and enjoyed for some time.

Whether this imbalance is created by the beings that exist in this manifest existence or it goes through natural cycles are irrelevant. Once imbalance is achieved the Universe's natural law is to right itself using any means possible. How this is dictated to me currently remains unknown and I can only speculate on a few possibilities which are unnecessary to go over on this text.

Cause and Effect

Every event has a cause every action produces effects in an endless chain.

This sounds very much like the idea of Karma. While the two holds properties similar to each other it is better to not make the mistake of thinking them the same. While Karma in most approaches dictates that we are accountable for each action there is also a system of judgment that often the theory insists takes place. With cause and effect there is a bit of a different approach. Throwing a stone into a pond can indeed create ripples. However those ripples have a patterned approach, rules governing how they move. Cause and effect allows one to understand this governance and if understood well one can move to an angle that will not be so much affected by this rippled backlash.

Throw a larger stone into a pond and you will find that the ripples are more intense and fiercer than if you threw a smaller stone into the pond. Throwing a stone to a greater distance may allow that you don't even see the ripples come back to your location at all. Though of course on a very minute scale that wouldn't be measured well they still come back.

With this idea you have Cause and Effect. I do not allow morality to come into the bias this law. Morality holds no place in the rules that regulate this universal system. By sticking it in on Karma like so many other paths do these paths suggest to you the outcomes that they would see you put forth. Emotional wants and needs mean nothing to these calculations in play.

Interpretation

Everything is intimately linked with everything else.

Out of the all the laws this one perhaps is the hardest to grasp. That because everything is linked with everything else there is really no distance between anything, just that on a physical level that is how we operate.

This law also comes under fire on the aspect if there are two or a multiple of energies how is it that they can be linked? Particularly when with the dichotomy of duality in play. Once again I have to theorize. As everything has come from the same source of which we call in this text the unmanifest there is an underlying code or resonance which carries that universal quality. In the fact that each person, each being, and of course each item of any substance has its own unique resonance all one has to do is be able to isolate it to find it.

Each piece of energy in the universe serves its own purpose with the Universe's natural laws. Interpretation goes hand in hand with the aspect that all truly is one.

This to me seems a plausible theory of which both works and allows me to continue thinking on a dualistic nature in regards to the Universe.

Dimensionality/Enclosure

Higher dimensions encompass lower dimensions.

If we think of the universe in an infinite onion we can better understand that every layer of this infinite layered onion leads to another layer. This works both on higher and lower planes of existence.

The higher the dimension you are able to go to the more of the picture you can see. However there is a price. The higher you go the less able you are to work in the lower dimensions and vice versa. One of the properties called harmonization has something of a solution to this.

When we think of physicality we understand that if we were to vibrate at a certain rate the objects that we call solid could be waded through as if they were water. On the opposite range on another vibration level objects that are liquid or gaseous might be able to be felt as solid.

To identify truly with another object or being you have to be equal to it. Thus true harmony only works when you are dealing with equals. What this means is though a higher level power could in theory modify their vibration level or harmonize with a lower or higher plane of existence a true understanding and fully working would only be capable with something that is equal to their prime resonance.

With this idea we start to grasp the needs that those of a much higher power level than we have. Often these higher level entities are called God, Goddess or Deities. In that they encompass a higher plane of existence than we do they can see and on some level interact on the levels we are at. However they do so with certain limitations. Therefore they often employ us to carry out the duties that they cannot without many problems on the levels that we are equal to.

Look once more to Interpretation. In that we are a small piece of the ocean or onion yet the moves we make are influential to the higher or lower realms, also we are now getting into Cause and Effect as well as All is One. As we gain in power and strength we also advance and evolve. The idea is that you move up the ladder towards the level of the higher entities that you once served. With this however once again the higher you go the less able you are going to be on the lower dimensions.

There is a theory about devolving to lower depths as well. Though I would find this process unflattering towards my needs and goals Symmetry demands that the process in reverse would hold the same. The lower the depths you go the less able you are going to be to influence the higher realms.

There are some physical theories about the universe being much like a balloon. That though we think of space as infinite, it is because that at some point you end up returning to the same place you started from. Currently though as much of a plausible solution on higher and lower planes of existence overlapping I have yet to be to the point to have a definite answer in regards to that or not.

Threefold Return and Karma

The Law of Threefold Return basically states that whatever you do returns to you threefold, good or ill. Karma is the manifestation of that law in action. It isn't punishment, because it is simply a balancing out of what you have earned. Similar to "as you sow, so shall you reap" or "what comes around, goes around." This Law also states that you are bound to return good with good, and ill with ill, but there are people who don't believe in that and don't practice it. There are ways to defend yourself by simply sending the negative energy back to its source.

Karma

Everyone knows about Karma but few people have really stopped to give it much thought as to how it works or why. We tend to think that Karma is something we get because of what we have done wrong and while that is correct we can also get karma for things we never did. Recently in a discussion the question was asked, "can we encounter karma because of action we have taken but did not know that it would cause something bad to happen?" The answer is YES! Karma comes from what we do and just because we were not aware of a situation totally does not absolve us of the karma from actions we take in such situations. The major responses to something that has been done and now has proven to be a bad move are statements like, "I did not know, or I did not think." A large part of this existence is to teach each of us how to think and to be better able to measure the impact of what we choose to do. If Karma was only earned when we knowingly do something that is wrong then the lessons would be limited to actions taken while we had a mindset to do wrong. Unfortunately humans have an amazing ability to take actions that can result in harm to others or to this earth without the slightest forethought. If we are not accountable for these situations then our learning is not broad enough to teach us how to think as well as what to do.

Since almost every major religion and basic personal philosophy holds that karma does exist and that part of our purpose in the physical form is to learn then it would seem obvious that the broader the lessons taught by incurring karma the more opportunity we have to make progress. Sadly the vast majority of people see the negative things that take place within there lives as just a run of bad luck. They seldom stop to examine these things to see if they are karma as a result of actions taken without thinking. This is one of the reasons so many feel out of control and that their lives are not within the realm of something that they can control. They tend to see what is not good as being some form of destiny that is intended to measure their strength and make them stronger but allowing them to have these moments of negativity. To the contrary negativity is almost always just the return of something we have done but never thought about.

There are many ways that we are both pushed and pulled toward the path that we are suppose to walk and Karma is but a small force that tries to get us there. Because Karma does what it does many people think that what we are to become is preordained or strictly a matter of destiny but such is not the case. Most of the forces that seem to attempt to direct us are involved with not what we are but now we live. Karma and the many other forces interrupt us when we have strayed from the spiritual path or allowed ourselves to become a negative force that inflicts pain and suffering, emotional or physical, on others. This does not dictate that we must be carpenters, salespeople or politicians. We have a great deal of freedom to chose what we will do with the life we have been allowed to live but we are not given as much freedom when it comes to what the rules of living that life are. In many ways what we conceive as the things that make us unhappy are often material in nature but the real cause of the unhappiness is that we can often only gain these things with total disregard for the spiritual rules that are the basis of our path through life. We want those material things and would prefer not to have to work to gain them but we can generally only gain them without work by the misuse of power and that then becomes an issue of karma. There is a link between what we are and what we want to be but there is not restriction on what we can become only on the process we seek to use to get there. Our path can lead anywhere but the path can only be walked in one way.
